The Rainbow Strawberries

It was a rainy day, so we were all up in our treehouse. This is my best friend Max and my little sister Ellie. My dad and I built the treehouse, and it has a rope ladder and a bucket on a string. We had a big pile of snacks with my dog Biscuit, who can talk but only to kids!

Then the rain went away, and there was a huge rainbow right over the treehouse! Ellie pointed and said, "Wan go rainbow!" Biscuit sniffed the air and said the rainbow smelled like strawberries. So Max said, "Let's go find the end of it!"

We climbed down the rope ladder super careful, and I carried Ellie on my back because it was slippery. We put on our rain boots, and Max got the wagon so Ellie and Biscuit could ride in it. We followed the rainbow through the back gate and into the woods behind our house.

The rainbow got brighter and brighter. Then we found a little stream with a bridge, but the bridge was broken. A tree had fallen on it in the storm. On the other side, a bunny family was stuck on a rock in the middle of the water, and the mom bunny looked super worried.

Max and I pushed the wagon right up to the edge, and we tipped it over to make a ramp. Biscuit jumped across super fast and held the other end with his teeth so it didn't wobble. Then the bunnies hopped across one by one, hop, hop, hop, and Ellie caught every single baby bunny and gave it a hug.

The mom bunny thumped her foot, hopped off, and we followed her. She took us right to the end of the rainbow! It wasn't gold, it was a giant strawberry patch with the biggest strawberries ever. That's why Biscuit smelled strawberries! We ate so many, and Ellie got strawberry all over her face.

We filled the wagon with strawberries for Mom and Dad, and the bunnies hopped next to us all the way home. We all went back up in the treehouse and ate strawberries while the sun came out. Ellie fell asleep on Biscuit like a pillow, and Max said this was the best rainy day ever. The end!
